Text Editor
This section explains how to run and use the basic HelenOS text editor.
Starting
The editor is started with the command:
# edit
Keyboard Controls
The editor supports common text-editing controls and in addition, the following controls are defined:
Keystroke | Action |
Enter | Insert line break |
Up Arrow | Move cursor one line up |
Down Arrow | Move cursor one line down |
Page Up | Move cursor up by one page |
Page Down | Move cursor down by one page |
Ctrl-Home | Move cursor to the beginning of the document |
Ctrl-End | Move cursor to the end of the document |
Ctrl-Q | Quit |
Ctrl-S | Save |
Ctrl-E | Save As |
Ctrl-L | Go to line |
Ctrl-F | Search forward |
Ctrl-Shift-F | Search backward |
Ctrl-N | Repeat previous search |
